MUSIKARCHITEKT AG is a multidisciplinary studio where architecture, sound and storytelling come together with purpose. Rooted in the Swiss tradition of precision and quality, we create spaces, music, books and game apps that are thoughtfully built and deeply felt.
The company’s origins date back to 1970, when architect Richard Bonauer established his practice in Pratteln, Switzerland. After relocating to Hölstein in the Waldenburg Valley, the studio became a fixture in the region. In 1994, Richard’s son Martin Bonauer joined him, and together they worked under the name Bonauer Architekten AG. As their portfolio grew, so did their creative ambitions. By 2024, the name MUSIKARCHITEKT AG was introduced to reflect a broader vision integrating architecture with audio, publishing and digital design.
Martin Bonauer leads the studio today, bringing a rare blend of engineering insight and artistic sensitivity. Trained at the Ingenieurschule Biel, he has spent decades guiding complex building projects across Switzerland with discipline and foresight. At the same time, Martin has nurtured a lifelong passion for music. His finely tuned ear, sharpened over years of composing and producing, has become just as essential to his work as his architectural tools. He releases music under the name Spiral Core and offers mixing and mastering services from a professional-grade studio.
But MUSIKARCHITEKT AG is more than the sum of its parts. In addition to architecture and audio production, we also write and publish original books and create distinctive game apps. Each project, no matter the medium, is approached with the same care, curiosity and commitment to excellence. Whether we are designing a home, mixing a record or crafting a digital world, we aim to shape experiences that resonate long after the moment has passed.
